Welcome to the Jedediah Smith Chapter, NSDAR

The Jedediah Smith Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR),  was organized on November 28, 1977. Margaret C. Byerly was the first regent. The chapter's name was chosen in honor of Jedediah Smith, a young, religious mountain man who traveled through the Mojave Desert by way of the Mojave River Trail where many chapter members live and travel to attend meetings. Most members are from the Mojave Desert area, however some members are from other areas as well. Local residency is not a requirement for membership in any chapter.
